Welcome: Evening Star

Venus started to emerge in the twilight skies around late September. But because of the series of typhoons that passed by the Philippines it wasn't visible until yesterday OCT 15, 2011, at least from my location. It is still too low in the sky for photography and my eyepiece view shows a crescent phase but with rainbow colored diffraction. It is hard to tell. It will take weeks for it to gain altitude for everyone to see.

But for now, let's welcome the Evening Star.

This is a 6sec exposure at F22 ISO 400.
